Pattern Release: Mini Bracken Trivets

Pattern Release: Mini Bracken Trivets

Have you ever wanted to learn foundation paper piecing but felt intimidated by a full sized quilt? If so, I think I have the perfect pattern for you!

I created a mini version of my full-sized Bracken quilt that I'm calling Mini Bracken Trivets. I say trivets because that's what I made back in early 2021 as a gift for my boyfriend. We both love how they look on his table, and he gave me the idea of turning them into an actual pattern! The pattern instructs you in how to make four trivets, but these can also be used as potholders (if you use insulated batting) or oversized coasters! They finish at 6.5" x 6.5" and can be arranged any way you'd like when they're not being used.

I used some Diamond Textiles I had leftover in my stash after making a throw sized quilt. Here's both in the same photo (with my dog Andre!)

I hope that if you've ever been on the fence about trying foundation paper piecing this will give you a nice low commitment way to try it out! You can find the pattern here.
